About Ivy & Bloom
Ivy & Bloom is an award-winning boutique garden design studio, located in the Eastern Bays of Auckland, New Zealand. We have a flair for creating beautiful spaces that are unique and individualistic and designed with each client in mind. We enjoy engaging authentically with our clients and then using our expertise to translate their ideas into a beautiful and functional garden design that they love to live in.
As such we work within a range of styles, from formal to subtropical, classical to contemporary. We have created designs for tiny city terraces and small urban gardens right through to large scale country gardens; from bare sites to mature established gardens that need a new lease of life. Our extensive plant knowledge brings each garden design to life with colour, texture and fragrance. We utilise a range of design software as well as sketches and hand drafting, and can also create colour, plant and accessory palettes to help you visualise our concepts. From a simple consultation through to detailed concept design and planting design, we can offer a solution tailor-made to your requirements.
As Registered Master Landscapers with Landscaping New Zealand, we are committed to quality trade practice and have the skills and professionalism required to design a garden for you that will endure. Ivy & Bloom also carry full insurance. We have designed gardens from Auckland through the Waikato to the Central Plateau and service other areas through New Zealand by arrangement – please contact us to discuss. “Ivy … is for my grandmother Ivy, from whom I inherited my passion for gardens.
Bloom… because that’s what people do in gardens”
Dee McQuillan
Principal Designer, Director
Dee McQuillan is an award-winning Landscape Designer. She has been an avid gardener all her life and escapes into the garden or a good gardening book every chance she gets. Dee is an Accredited Member of Registered Master Landscapers New Zealand and a registered (and passionate) urban beekeeper.
Dee has a Master of Arts with Honours, a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing and is very well travelled, having lived in both Saudi Arabia and France for a number of years.
Dee has a very patient husband and two teenage sons and when she says to them “come on, let’s go out for a treat” they groan and say “oh no, not the garden centre AGAIN!”
